Beethoven's Symphony No. 5



This is the NBC broadcast from Carnegie Hall, in New York City, on March 22, 1952. Performing are the NBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Arturo Toscanini [1867-1957], a few days short of his eighty-fifth birthday. Toscanini was musical director of the NBC Symphony Orchestra from 1937 until his retirement in 1954, aged eighty-seven.
