Chicago Symphony Orchestra: Mahler's Symphony No. 7

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of French composer Pierre Boulez, performs Gustav Mahler's Symphony No 7, in five movements. This is part of the Great Performances TV series on the American PBS channel; this performance took place on Wednesday, October 27, 2011. The work premiered in Prague, with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra on September 19, 1908; Mahler himself conducting; the American premiere was in Chicago, with Frederick Stock at the podium, on April 15, 1921,.
