Efrem Zimbalist: De Sarasate's 'Tarantella' (1937)



In a 1937 NBC radio broadcast, Efrem Zimbalist [1890-1985] performs Pablo de Sarasate's Tarantella, opus 43, which was composed in 1899.

  1. 20th-century classical compositions are supposed to be ugly. What did Pablo de Sarasate think he was doing when he composed a piece that didn't meet the criteria of his epoch?
