Aelita Fitingof: 'My Way' (Mein Vayg) In Yiddish

Aelita Fitingof performs a wonderful rendition of Frank Sinatra's signature song, My Way, or Mein Vayg. Here is some background information from this talented singer from the former Soviet Union:
Called by press “chanteuse extraordinaire”, Aelita began her professional stage life at 15 in the former USSR and since then has taken center stage around the world. From the opening ceremony of the Football World Cup in Seoul, South Korea to the White House in Washington, DC, from Paris to Moscow, from Miami to Jerusalem – she has always instantly connected with diverse audiences through the universal language of music.

The preservation of Yiddish music and culture has always been a lifelong quest for Aelita who credits her parents and upbringing with influencing the person she is today. This August 2010 she comes full circle when she returns home to her roots, to her childhood city of Riga, Latvia, in order to commemorate her late father Beno Fitingof, his parents who among 40 relatives died in the Riga Ghetto. As a special guest of the Shamir Jewish Music Festival, Aelita performed songs from her latest CD "Songs My Father Taught Me" as a benefit for the Riga Ghetto museum opening in September of 2010.

Aelita has taken center stage in four different continents, raising seven million dollars for the state of Israel, and has shared the spotlight with other celebrities such as Sara Vaughn, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Barry Manilow, Henry Kissinger, and President Bill Clinton, at the White House. Aelita performs in sixteen different languages, including French, Chinese, Russian and Yiddish.
