Living With Wolves (2005)

Animal Nature

This documentary, released in 2005, examines two film-makers who spent six years befriending and living with a pack of wolves (Canis lupus). “For centuries, wolves have been characterized as bloodthirsty beasts, tormentors of ranchers and the bane of helpless livestock. Determined to overcome this misconception, filmmakers Jamie and Jim Dutcher—creators of the Emmy-winning Wolves at Our Door—spent six years in a tented camp in the wilderness of Idaho, living with a pack of wolves, listening to them and earning their trust, ” writes Amazon.com on their site. The narrator is Liev Schreiber, the film actor. Children’s fairy tales and the Bible have both provided a negative image of the wolf (see “The Big Bad Wolf”). This documentary might help change such views.
