am looking to accept submissions from our readers. I will try to respond to all submissions, but can only publish those that fit within the general framework of this blog. Note that I cannot pay for any submissions, chiefly because I do not currently have the financial means to do so.

In the future, if this blog achieves greater prominence and reach, that might change. My aim is to build a community of writers, photographers and artists who can broadly explain and express their views on compassion, intellectual honesty, imagination. learning and individual dignity. You have wide latitude to do so.

Written submissions should:
  • Offer a perspective centered on the themes of freedom, humanity, compassion, imagination and individual dignity
  • Appeal to a broad audience of international readers
  • Be well-written and concise. Please keep submissions to 1,000 words or less.
  • Cite secondary sources with proper attribution using standard journalistic or academic methods 
  • Use links when citing secondary sources or references
  • Be an author's original work; previously published (or posted) works are allowed if you own the copyright to the work or you can obtain permission from the copyright holder.
  • Be proofread by the author
  • Be submitted with a suggested headline
  • Include a one- or two-line bio and your email address, blog address, or website address, along with a photo, if you'd like us to include it. 

Photo essays should:
  • Offer a unique perspective centered on the themes of freedom, humanity, compassion, imagination and individual dignity
  • Appeal to a broad audience of international readers
  • Be between three and five photos 
  • Include a brief description of  the work, either as a collected work, or an individual work.
  • Be an original piece of work done by the photographer; previously published (or posted) works are allowed if you own the copyright to the work or you can obtain permission from the copyright holder.
  • Be submitted with a suggested headline
  • Include a one- or two-line bio and your email address, blog address, or website address,   along with a photo, if you'd like us to include it.

Illustrations, drawings and other art works should:
  • Offer a unique perspective centered on the themes of freedom, humanity, compassion, imagination and individual dignity
  • Appeal to a broad audience of international readers
  • Be no more than two pieces of work
  • Include a brief description of  the work, either as a collected work, or an individual work.
  • Be an original piece of work done by the artist; previously published (or posted) works are allowed if you own the copyright to the work or you can obtain permission from the copyright holder.
  • Be submitted with a suggested headline
  • Include a one- or two-line bio and your email address, blog address, or website address, along with a photo, if you'd like us to include it.
